Attleboro landlord with gun jailed

Not the way to solve a dispute…

ATTLEBORO — An Attleboro landlord is now serving a jail sentence for shooting up a Lamb Street home he rented in what authorities say was the violent ending of a long running dispute with his tenants.

John Zito, 39, of 271 South Main St. in Attleboro, is serving six months of a two-year jail term after pleading guilty to assault and weapons-related charges in Attleboro District Court on Thursday, according to court records.

The 18-month balance of the jail term was suspended by Judge Daniel O’Shea for two years with probation. O’Shea ordered Zito to submit to random drug tests while on probation after his release from jail and to stay away from the victims.
